This pistol is essentially a P229 with a polymer frame, which makes it lighter overall for use as an EDC Pistol.
Two caveats - 1. The pistol comes with only one grip (Medium) - if you need a Small grip (GRIP-2022-SM-BLK) you should check either Sig Sauer or an aftermarket source.
2. The pistol comes with two 15-round magazines that do NOT interchange with the P229 - spare magazines (UPC 798681243297) are available from
aftermarket vendors, but you MUST specify that they are for a SP2022.
All that said, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
I like that the gun functions as well as I expected a Sig Sauer to function. I had the SP-2022 as my 1st hand gun. I was not a practiced shooter and the Sig shot a bit harsh for me. For that reason I sold it. Fast forward 6yrs, and me being more practiced, I missed a lot of the functionality of the SP-2022. I have been looking for another SP-2022 for the better part of 2yrs. Glad I found it on GunPrime. It's one of my favorite guns.
